Hydro Excavation Trucks For Sale

Who Needs Hydro Excavation?

The power and efficiency of hydro excavation trucks make them indispensable on a variety of job sites. That’s why companies in industries ranging from construction to oil and gas to municipal public works seek out dependable, heavy-duty trucks for hydro excavation for sale. Great Lakes Equipment Sales has a wide selection of new and used hydro excavation trucks for sale or lease to help make short work of some of the toughest excavation jobs you may encounter.

What is Hydro Excavation?

Hydro excavation trucks also commonly referred to as hydrovac trucks are used as a safer non-mechanical, non-destructive, and cost-effective method for excavating that uses high-pressure water and powerful suction to simultaneously breaks up soil and vacuum it into a sealed and contained debris tank on the truck.

Hydro excavation eliminates the use of sharp or metal edges used during traditional digging methods of digging, which have been the source of a majority of excavation incidents over the years. The use of shovels, backhoes, trenchers or other yellow iron earth moving equipment has been responsible for causing power outages, burst water lines, damage to underground petroleum pipelines, sewer lines, fiber optic, and telecommunication lines, utilities, and gas line explosions.

Hydro excavation is an extremely precise method of excavation that ensures that the only area that is disturbed by excavation is the exact location that is being excavated, unlike yellow iron mechanical equipment that often disturbs the entire area around the excavation site. Hydro excavation requires less labor, backfill, and restoration, with less impact on the environment than traditional techniques that use mechanical excavation equipment.

Hydro excavation can also be done remotely in hard to reach or sensitive areas allowing for removal of practically any type of material, including soil, rock, sand, water, sludge, spills and debris. Wet or dry material can be extracted from over 1000 feet away from the truck. Cold weather and freezing conditions do not affect or restrict hydro excavation because hydrovac units are equipped with hot water boilers, allowing for use of heated water to thaw and break up frozen soil.
